Chemical constituents – It contains alkaloids ( 2.5 to 5% )
            The alkaloids are – (i) Strychnine (ii) Brucine etc .
                It contains glycosides like loganin , also contain fixed oil ( 2 to 4 % ) and also
            contain protein .
                       


Uses :  Bitter stomachic , spinal cord stimulant and as a nerve tonic .
